He was mean so he wouldn't be sad? That's silly! Doesn't he know that it just makes everyone sad? Did you teach him that? I betcha did! You're smart that way, right, Prism?
If she was a puppy she would have wagged up at her friend; as it was, she had the big sweet eyes down perfectly.
That was only true while looking at her friend though; something rustled in a bush near the water and those same eyes narrowed shrewdly, her little legs automatically swinging her in front of the mare. As if a little filly could hope to protect her from anything - even the bird that appeared from behind the foliage to slide into the water.
Which, as it turned out, took exception to their intrusion if the bleeting screech it loosed was any indication. All it did was spread its wings and screech again, flapping and splashing and looking positively huge to her. Not that it stopped AuraSidra any; the little filly bleeted right back and stomped her front hooves at those wings. She took no notice of the pecking beak, merely reared up and stomped back down again with an indignant Don't you peck at my friend!
It could have been quite silly, had she and the goose not been much of the same size. Then again, her mother would have merely smiled at how cute it all was.

Spectrum felt her heart fill up with warmth as she watched the filly defend her. It was so sweet! She looked at the goose a little worriedly. She felt bad for disturbing it, but she would run it off if it dared to try anything. She reached her head forward and went to tug at the filly's tail to get her attention before saying Let's go somewhere else. There's still lots to explore, and I want to do as much as possible before we have to go home again. She gave the filly her hopeful eyes, and smiled at her sweetly.
Her statement wasn't a total excuse. She did want to play with the filly as much as possible while they had the chance. Visits with her were few and far in between, and several times she'd lie awake at night, thinking of her filly and wondering how she was and wishing she could see her. But then she'd cheer herself up with the memories of them playing together and exploring. One of her personal favorites was when she showed her the crystals from her cave. She smiled slightly as the good feelings washed over her. This filly was without a doubt her best friend.

Explore? Ooooh! That sounded perfect! And better than some stinky ol' cranky bird-thing.
Wanna see where the pond goes? I dun see the other side of it, she said brightly, momentarily forgetting the feathered fiend - just long enough for that hard beak to land a sharp peck on her leg. Ouch!
Luckily the goose was just annoyed - the leg would bruise, but it wasn't broken. It still hurt though, and it still made her cranky enough to kick back. With an indignant honk the bird took wing and disappeared over the pond, revealing the pile of eggs that'd been hidden behind her. No wonder it was so cranky! Sill, her leg hurt. She wouldn't have hurt the eggs, and the blasted bird could have just asked to know that.
Won't the eggs miss her?

Huh, eggs? She hadn't even noticed, as she was preoccupied with trying to subtly check the filly for injuries. Luckily for that goose, it was just a bruise. Now that the aforementioned filly pointed it out though, she saw the nest full of round eggs sitting by the water. She smiled at the adorable question. Spectrum always called her the filly in her head, but she often forgot that she was just that- a filly! They won't even notice she left. They're sleeping and won't wake up until they hatch. she answered with a reassuring smile. Do you still want to look at the eggs, or are you ready to move on?
It was good the filly pointed out the eggs. Spectrum was already planning the capture of that wretched bird that dared to strike her best friend! She would have given it to Sethelu as a snack! But now that she knew it was just protecting it's eggs(the same way the filly had protected her)she felt her anger slowly melt away. She couldn't blame the bird for trying to protect it's loved ones, but she could still chase it back this way if they met it again.

She looked up in surprise, having momentarily forgotten that with Spectrum, it was more than trying to keep up with her bouncy personality. It was a novelty to be allowed to be in charge of what they did.
She was also taught her manners, though, which prompted her to say Wanna see the other side of the pond still, Prismatic? Her eyes were big and hopeful and bright in the light of her mane crystal, because even with Spectrum willing to follow along she wasn't about to just run her friend over.
Besides - she was supposed to have met all kinds of Serians by now, right? But so far, it only felt as if Spectrum was a real friend. It made her sad to think of, but there was always hope that she'd find others. She was surprisingly social; it was why she usually wound up dragging others along in her escapades.
She was, thankfully, too young to remain depressed for long though, and in any case she had a friend with her right here, right now. It didn't so much matter what they did as long as they did it together - and at any rate, her last adventure with Astarte had taught her to respect her limits. She hadn't ever been that sore and exhausted!
Maybe a quiet wander around the lake was just the thing. At least, for the moment. She'd probably get bored and find some sort of trouble eventually!
And Spectrum would be right there with her the whole way.
It warmed her up in a way the two suns back home would never manage.

Re: Colors of the Night
Prismatic? That's new, and super adorable! Spectrum loved it. She started to smile at the filly adoringly before quickly changing it to excitedly. She didn't want the foal to think she was too sentimental. Then she wouldn't want to play anymore. She grinned impishly before turning and cantering around the pond, calling over her shoulder Last one there's a grumpy goose! making sure not to go too fast in case the filly didn't want to race.
